Hey guys,
Today we’ll be talking about the Covergirl quad “Go for the golds”. This was actually the first eyeshadow product I ever purchased for myself, so it has been well used and tested.

The first eye shadow in the palette is a true gold shimmer. The shimmer in this color is large and a bit chunky, it is also very powdery and has TONS of fallout. The color is just glitter and has little background pigment. When applied wet this eyeshadow doesn’t have the same problems, but when it drys on the eyelid it flakes off. It also applies unevenly across the lid. I really don’t like this particular shadow, it’s powdery and doesn’t cling to the eyelid.
The second shadow is a beautiful bronze color. This color is quite pigmented and very smooth. It has a shimmer that is finer than the first shade and is really stunning when applied wet or dry.
The third shade is a warm brown with a little shimmer and glitter in it. It isn’t as shimmery as the first two shades. This shadow applies very similarly to the second shade and I like it a lot.
The fourth shade is a dark matte brown. This is very pigmented and takes a bit of time to blend, but this is a beautiful and dramatic crease color. It’s easier to blend this one out if you blend it with a lighter, easily- blendable shade.

I find that all of these shadows mingle and get muddled together with other eye shadows on my lids, but other than that I like the last three shades of this quad and it’s a nice warm drugstore palette. I like that they included a matte color and that they included a foam tip applicator that is thinner on one end than it is on the other.
