Hey guys! What’s up? I’m really excited today and I just want to gush about some fun things that are happening in my life! So…. First and foremost recently I’ve been trying to convince my husband, Matthew, to let me adopt a rabbit. But he’s been resistant so far because
However, recently I think that he has been starting to warm up to the idea because he’s been trying to convince me to get a guinea pig instead and has consented to let me get a small rabbit. So i think in a few weeks we’ll probably go and adopt one :DDDDDD We’ve already decided that the rabbit will live right next to our biggest window and that I’ll be paying for it out of my spending money (which means less makeup :(, but more rabbit ^^) . There’s so much planning and cleaning to do to get the right spot ready for it, so waiting a few weeks is fine :) I’m so excited and can’t wait to meet the cute little guy!! I also recently started the 100 days of makeup challenge on instagram (@zuwra). Basically you post a different makeup look for 100 days straight, it can be a glamorous, gory, or just a fun look! I started about a week ago and it’s been a lot of fun so far, but I feel like it’s going to be really difficult to keep up during finals week (mid april), so wish me luck :P The last fun things that’s been happening in my life is this website! It’s gotten a lot of views recently and I’m super excited about that, so thank you all so, so much for visiting this site and reading my posts! I hope you all have a great day! So, I've been avoiding Pinterest for years. I was never really interested in it when other people talked about it and I grew to have a major personal vendetta towards it. I hated how on an a iPhone if you click on a Pinterest link, but don't have an account you can't scroll past 5 images or so, and the website is always pushing for you to download the app (I have very little memory on my phone) and get an account. Things like that are a major turn off to me if they interfere with me using the website quickly.
But as luck would have it I needed to get an account for Cyrano, a play that I'm designing the makeup for. The costume designers, director, and my co-makeup designer all have Pinterest boards and I needed an account to look at them properly. And so the time wasting has began.... I may have spent all of yesterday on it..... Instead of doing homework... But I'm sick, so it's fine, right? Right? Eh? I never realized how much fun this would be! It's like extreme window shopping!! I love how much variety there is and I like that if a picture grabs your attention you can go and read the article that posted the picture. So for those you who don't have a Pinterest, just know that it's time consuming, but totally awesome! This is Porthos! Matthew got him for me for Valentines day! Super sweet, right! <3 He is a poro from the game League of Legends. And he is sooo cute :) Thus far we've found that he eats lint as well as Chinese food ^^ He is perhaps the cutest thing to walk this earth and I'm so grateful to have him in my life :) I hope you're all having a fantastic day, and that you're all in good health!
Hi guys,
Welcome to my first ever blog post! I'm extremely happy to have you here on my website and I hope to over time build an awesome and informative site, so thank you so much for stopping by :) It's the end of January and I just finished an extremely stressful and intense month. I currently am attending college and I've been really busy with classes, but this was probably the busiest month I've had in a while. In January I got my first ever client for makeup, I did her wedding and was so ridiculously nervous. It's weird because I've done makeup on a lot of people before, but I was still so nervous. Prior to the wedding I was really building out my kit so that I'd have everything that I needed, but after doing her makeup I realized that I definitely didn't need everything that I brought. I was so worried about not having some shade that she wanted or some other thing that she needed that I didn't take a step back and realize that she just wanted some natural looking makeup and would have been just as happy if I had only brought one palette instead of several. She didn't need ten different blush shades to choose from, she just wanted a natural one or two. So I'll definitely keep that in mind with my next client. It was such a blessing to be able to do her makeup and attend her wedding :) I also worked on the ballet Alice in Wonderland. I've been working on the makeup and hair for this show since last august and it was so awesome to see the whole production come together. Pre-production I spend most of my time styling and ventilating the front of the queen of hearts wig. During the week of the production I airbrushed contours and highlights on about 30 people a day. I also did the makeup for the gryphon and generally helped with anything people needed (cleaning brushes, etc.) There were about 8 makeup artists working on the show and I really enjoyed being one of them. I'm so glad that I got to practice airbrush makeup on so many different face shapes and tones of skin. Overall I had an awesome month and a great start to the semester! |
